President
The President supervises all the other officers and plans and presides over ASME General Body and Officer Meetings. The President is also responsible for being the contact for our chapter to ASME International.

External Vice President
The External Vice-President's responsibilities primarily consist of maintaining ASME’s company contacts list, obtaining speakers and setting up the luncheon events for the semester. This includes greeting the speakers, writing thank you letters or contacting companies to ensure reimbursement for luncheons. Additionally, the EVP is responsible for alumni relations, including keeping track of graduating seniors, their email addresses and contacting them as luncheon speakers, general body speakers, or for an alumni event. The EVP often works very closely with our business chairs.

Internal Vice President
The Internal Vice-President is in charge of organizing departmental events, election transitions, professor seminars and the recruitment of students. The IVP is also responsible for relations with the Mechanical Engineering Department and other student organizations.

Treasurer
The treasurer is responsible for day-to-day monetary transactions of ASME. He or she is
responsible for overseeing ASME’s financial accounts. The treasurer is responsible for handling all reimbursements to ASME members as necessary for ASME operations. For meetings, the Treasurer is in charge of ordering food for the meetings.

Secretary
Takes minutes for all officer meetings and keep track of membership points. He or she is also responsible for the the ASME email list. The secretary is also responsible for alumni relations, including keeping track of graduating seniors, their email addresses and contacting them as luncheon speakers, general body speakers, or for an alumni event.

Business Chair
The primary task of the business chair is to assist the External VP The External Vice-President’s responsibilities will primarily consist of obtaining speakers for ASME luncheons, and shall also be responsible for maintaining ASME’s company contacts list. The EVP works with the business chair to organize the ASME luncheons.

Event Chair
The events chair is also responsible for planning 2 professional events for ASME. These events include but are not limited to: plant tours, events with ASME Detroit and professional workshops.

The Social Media Chair is responsible for updating and maintaining the ASME website and Facebook page. Tasks include advertising for ASME events and updating the photo library from ASME Events.
Sports Chair
The sports chair organizes events such as intermural sports that help make ASME a closer knit group.

The Social Chair is responsible for making ASME a closer knit group. This is done through organizing social events such as Wing Night, Rock & Bowl, and other events that members are interested in.

Service Chair
The Service Chair is responsible for planning service events each semester and to encourage membership participation in service. Events planned in the past include Big House Big Heart, Relay for Life, Ronald McDonald House, Arb Clean-up and K-Grams Kids Fair.

The Fun Run Chairs are the ASME representatives for the ASME/SWE fun run. The fun run is a 5k that raises money for Motts Children’s Hospital. The chairs are also in charge of setting up ASME fun run committees.
